Patty Chen

Patty Chen is an attorney at Encore Law Group LLP. She has a wide range of experience in several areas of law implicating different industries, legal issues and factual scenarios. Her specialty is being able to dive into any case and make a meaningful impact at any stage of a matter. Patty has represented a broad range of companies, employers, executives and individuals in state court, arbitration and mediation.

Patty handles a full range of labor and employment matters under both state and federal law, including class action and individual employment litigation. She advises employers in matters involving non-solicitation and non-competition covenants, independent contractor/employee status, and other employment-related matters. She regularly advises clients on their personnel policies and employee handbooks, as well as severance agreements, nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, and employment contracts.

She has also helped her clients protect their intellectual property rights. She works closely with her clients to understand their needs and develop customized strategies to protect their valuable trademarks. Her experience includes trademark clearance searches, trademark registration, enforcement of trademark rights, and dispute resolution.

Patty has developed a reputation as a knowledgeable and reliable legal advisor to entrepreneurs and small business owners, having assisted them with a variety of business law matters, including entity formation, contract negotiation and business litigation.

Patty is a member of California Lawyers Association (CLA), California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) and Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA). She graduated cum laude from UC Berkeley and received her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies. Patty received her Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law in 2018 with a specialization in Public Interest Law and Policy.
